Jobs and Internships

In today’s diverse and highly competitive work environment, employers are looking for candidates who have acquired experience and achieved success in the workplace. Completing one or more internships is one way in which you can acquire this experience.

Finding an Internship

Want to practice what you have learned? Ready to start getting some real experience under your belt? Visit the Fulton Engineering Career Center’s Internship Information site and start on your path to an internship!

In addition to the Engineering Career Center, SSEBE has company recruitment presentations, company information tables in the College Avenue Commons (CAVC), interviews in the CAVC and career fairs each fall and spring that focus specifically on civil engineering, construction engineering and construction management students. As a student in these programs you are automatically enrolled in the CESE or Construction Blackboard organizations that provide weekly updates of recruitment events, targeted job postings and many more things that are just for SSEBE students.

Though internships are not a mandatory part of the CESE degrees, we strongly urge you to take advantage of experiential learning through formal courses. This helps students establish degree specific experiences with the added benefit of measurable outcomes that can help you improve your skill sets and better prepare for the job market post-graduation. The internships also help F1 visa students gain work authorization here in the U.S.
