Quick solutions to common technical issues faced by SSEBE faculty, staff and students.

Slow computer or app performance

  • Close unused programs and browser tabs.
  • Restart the system to clear temporary memory.
  • Check for pending updates (OS, software, drivers).
  • Run a disk cleanup to free up storage.
  • If the issue still persists, contact SSEBE IT.

Application not responding or crashing

  • Force close and reopen the application.
  • Update the app to the latest version.
  • Check for compatibility with your OS.
  • Try reinstalling the application if the issue persists.
  • If the issue still persists, contact SSEBE IT.

Computer won’t power on

  • Ensure the power cable is securely connected.
  • Try a different power outlet or power strip.
  • For laptops, check the battery and charger status.
  • If there are no signs of life, contact SSEBE IT Support.

Printer not connecting or printing

  • Check if the printer is powered on and online.
  • Ensure it’s connected to the correct Wi-Fi or network.
  • Restart both the printer and the computer.
  • Reinstall or update printer drivers if needed.
  • If the issue still persists, contact SSEBE IT.

Ethernet or Wi-Fi not working

  • Check if you’re using a wired (Ethernet) or wireless (Wi-Fi) connection.
  • For Ethernet: Ensure the cable is securely plugged in.
  • For Wi-Fi: Confirm you’re connected to ASU Wi-Fi; reconnect if needed.
  • Restart your device to refresh the network adapter.
  • Run network troubleshooter or contact SSEBE IT Support.
